It was actually a really short ride and David was fixated on seeing a whale because apparently a sign on the ferry guaranteed sightings. Right. So the guy spent his time on the ferry staring out the window. And lo and behold we saw one! Okay maybe it was a dolphin. But we saw something! I kid you not!
So after we got off the ferry we were on our merry way to see tulips! Yup we're the super lucky folks who are in town just in time for the tulip festival in Skagit Valley! On the way there we crossed this bridge called Deception Pass. Super ominous for such a pretty bridge right? Well, there's a reason why!
But anyway, after the tulips we had dinner at El Granaio, an Italian restaurant in Mt. Vernon. It was really good! And it was a 3-course dinner for $16! Isn't that incredible? After dinner we checked into the hotel and kept Sabbath by watching San Jose's live streaming because there are no Friday services at Seattle Church.
The next morning we drove to Shoreline to go to church! It's really neat because Seattle got their chapel not too long ago and will be having dedication soon! Here is the entrance from the parking lot.
The next morning we had breakfast at the hotel. It was so crowded that you had to line up for everything. But they had omelets made to order! Really good & yummy breakfast. :) Here we are after we cleaned off our plates.
We got back to SFO at around 4. And let's just say we had quite an adventure getting home via BART and Caltrain. There was some running up and down stairs with our luggage in hand involved. And a momentary occurrence when we got on the wrong train. But somehow we actually made it on all right trains and got home safely and as planned. :)
