Our office, on the other hand, is filled to the gills with stuff (much more than I'd like, actually!). We can't even add any more furniture or hang anything else on the wall if we wanted to! That space is done! But our bedroom? Not quite.
What really bothers me is that even as a heavy design blog consumer, I don't have an inspiration for the space.
Then, a few weeks ago it somehow came to me that we needed to add seating in our bedroom. Here's my rationale:
Problem: We always sit in our bed to browse the internet or read books because we don't have anywhere else to sit (none comfortable, anyway).
Solution: Therefore, we need a nice, comfortable space to sit in.
Makes total sense right? I think back to 3rd grade, where our home room had this huge paper-mache tree that you can crawl into and read. "We need one of those in our bedroom!" I decided.
I'm not sure if it's because I've consumed way too many Home & Garden magazines, but the idea of having a "reading nook" sounded oh-so fancy to me. So, I've designated the corner between the dresser and the balcony as "The Reading Nook". And the $20 Bentwood rocking chair (when it's done...hopefully soon) will be the anchor piece!
And what reading nook is complete without a nice light fixture? No, it's an absolute must! But the space is pretty tight, so a floor lamp sounds like an overkill. Well, we could get one of those wall lamp things, but uhh... I don't know. Then I saw this at Centsational Girl:
This one from CB2 is what I'm currently eyeing. (Now I just need to convince David that we really need it. Like now.)
