The inspiration behind this mood board is to brighten up the room. It's the room with the least amount of natural lighting in our entire house. And while I like the dark wood furniture, it just makes the room even darker. We're not on the market to buy new furniture so I'm hoping to add a white grid (using MDF boards) on the bed wall as a jumping point. I'm also hoping the white on white curtains will help. At the end, it'll essentially be a white + light gray palette, neutral & complimentary to both our summer & winter bedding sets. I'm liking it a lot.
Since I'm experiencing scope creep of going from painting the walls to potentially redesigning a room, I'm deferring this Pinterest Challenge until 2012.
Others Ideas I have for the waaay future future include:
- Adding an electrical box to the ceiling and dropping a nice chandelier. I think that'll really draw your eye to the height in this room. I think the room will feel larger with a drop down light.
- Moving the rocking chair elsewhere (I know!) and adding a nice plushy chair + ottoman in the corner.
- Moving the piano out of this room (okay, we can probably do this now). It just doesn't belong here. I don't where it should go, but it shouldn't stay in the bedroom.
- Also, something should probably go above the bed eventually.
