Sometime between 7:30 & 8:00 AM
I was literally in a dream (RH, you were in it!) and then suddenly, I smelled a waft of gardenia scent. (For those of you who don't know, gardenias are my favorite flowers. The scent can be intoxicating, but I love it.) Anyway, so I was mid-dream when this waft of gardenia scent came over me and I thought to myself, "How lovely."
8:00 AM
And then I woke up and was soooo pleasantly surprised to see this! What? The gardenias were real after all? Super sneaky, that David. And the accompanying note reads: "Breakfast is served whenever you are ready." Very sweet. :)
8:30 AM
Not long after, I was called to breakfast. :) Pancakes made from scratch! And in heart shapes, too! I love you, too, honey. (Sorry for all of you who just gagged). Aren't the mini daffodils just adorable? I love them.
So knowing that cut gardenias have a short life, I brought my vase of beauties to work. Because I'll be here for a long, long time. And my colleagues had the fringe benefit of catching a waft of the wonderful scent. :) I was very popular with the women today. Men apparently don't care for flowers.
5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
David picked me up for early dinner. :) We ate at Cafe Pro Bono (first time!) and I ordered prawns and he ordered free range hen. Good food. And I brought my camera but forgot to take a picture! Boo. :(
6:30 PM - 10:00ish PM
After dinner we drove to church and got there at 7:05 PM! Traffic was great! So I stopped by a vintage thrift store that I love right by the Safeway at church and saw this little guy. I jokingly (okay maybe not) requested for it to be my birthday present. :) I'm getting more and more shameless as I get older it seems! But isn't it so cute?? The wheels actually roll and it is heavy for its size.
10:00 ish - ???
Then I went upstairs to the bedroom to start to wind down the day when David came to tell me he wants to show me something. I walked out and it was pitch dark. I am scared of the dark so I clung to him as we walk down the stairs. And then I saw the cake. With 6 candles on it (um, thank you :D).
And as if all this is not enough, this appeared. I immediately felt super guilty for my request to have the bike as my birthday present. I'm so high maintenance. (Sorry, honey.)
Thank you. :)
