- First of all, with around 30(?) members (many of whom are small children), Sacramento Church was such a gracious host to the 20+ of us with an average age of around 20!
- I am so impressed by the Sacramento parents! A majority of the members there are parents of small children and yet they are so active in church. On Saturday evening, just about everyone stayed at church until 9pm or so. I hear that they generally stay until at least 5pm. They also all came out again on Sunday. And these people live around 30-40 minutes away from church, too! I can tell that they love the Lord so much and put serving as a priority. If we were to ever have children, these couples are my inspiration and example to follow.
- I'm so thankful to God for providing the members with a beautiful chapel! Really! It's a chapel I'd love to get married at, except I'm already married. Haha.
- I'm thankful to my cousins, Peter & Wendy, for inviting us over to spend the night and for treating us to yummy breakfast the next morning!
- As for the fellowship itself, I'm thankful that even though I am a good 10 years above average age, I felt at ease among the younger crowd. So I'm thankful to them!
- Speaking of them, I'm amazed and thankful for all the activities they prepared for us! Wow, such creativity! I can tell they really put in time and effort and their heart in prepping for the activities. I enjoyed them all.
- One of the best things about these fellowships is singing hymns together. Fewer simple things that can yield the same joy. I also loved learning new hymns from them.
- I'm also extremely proud and thankful to see the generations below me grow up so strongly in the Lord. NYTS, MVP, RHTS, SSC are constant acronyms that come from their mouths. They remind me of my generation 10 years ago and how the friends I made then are so precious to me today. They are a reminder to me that I should try to keep up and not let age slow me down.
