So ever since I got the gold all-surface craft paint, I've been sort of fascinated by its potential. :) There were some hits and some misses but it's been fun. :) The other day I saw the following gold-lettered art print from Southern Weddings and my mind started ticking. I loved the simplicity of the print and, of course, the timeless message. And I thought to myself, surely I can try to recreate it with my trusty bottle of gold paint. What I did was paint a swatch of paper gold, let it dry and then cut out the letters. I used my stencil set to help me with the letters. Then it was just a matter of cutting the letters out. And I thought it turned out okay (alright I admit the "O" could've turned out better if my scissor cutting skill didn't stop at 3rd grade). I tried out the vertical alignment at first, but at the end I kind of liked the horizontal one better. And apologies for the bad night photos. I love the sheen of the letters. It's not as brassy as it looks in the photos...it's more of a soft gold color. And here it is in our office collage! It replaced a bicycle print that was there before and I like it! It took about 30 minutes and zero dollars and I think it was a fun change.
