We had a wedding last week at Pacifica Church and I was asked to make boutonierres for the wedding workers. The bride wanted something green and white, clean and fresh, so I ended up buying white tulips, wax flowers and green berries. I thought the color combination look modern and nice with brown floral tape so I went with that. The tulips stayed closed in the fridge overnight but by the middle of the day they were completely open. Oh well. Nothing wrong with one outfit, two looks, right? When we were done making the boutonierres, we had a bunch of wax flowers and green berries left over, so I brought them home. They sat in the garage for a while and I was thinking, why not just put them in vases around the house? So that's what I did. Pretty soon we had vases of wax flowers and / or green berries all over the house. I felt a bit genius for remembering we had this bud vase so I could stick all the leftover cuttings in it. It actually looked really pretty and it was effortless. Glad I didn't just let these flowers die in the garage. I never realized these flowers are so hardy. The wax flowers are still blooming and it's been a almost two weeks since I bought them!
