I'm a sports lover and yet in all four decades of my existence, I've never been to a baseball game! Since the St Louis Cardinals (my team) are in town to play the Oakland A's, David got us tickets to go see them! We thought we were going to be roasted alive in the 90-100 degree heat wave, but thankfully, the weather was pretty good. It was definitely on the warm side (80s?) but with a comfortable breeze. It was so fun to see the Cardinal Nation fans show up in red gear. :) But you know, I hope that in the next decade or so we can transfer our loyalty to Bay Area teams. When Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki retire, I think I will become a Warriors fan. It seems like Cardinal fans have a much harder time transferring loyalty though. :) At the game we saw the cutest blimp ever! MINIONS!!! :D Jake Westbrook was on the mound today for the Cards and it wasn't a pretty outing for him. But the game was really exciting. I think there were 5 home runs and like 18 hits and 3 errors. Frustrating sometimes, but exciting. I hope someday to watch a Cards game at Busch Stadium! I'm putting that on my bucket list. I was surprised the attendance wasn't that great as the A's are incredibly good this year. David tells me Busch Stadium is always sold out and very well attended. For about 3 innings we moved back a few rows to catch the shade and it was heaven up there. Felt like we had personal A/C. :) All in all it was great fun even though we lost 5-7. Baseball fans seem much classier and calmer than basketball fans! We went to two Warriors games this year and those were loud and crazy and well...also fun. :) Just different. Hope we can catch more games in the future and hope the Cards sweep the Angels! :D
