I feel compelled to give an update on the tomatoes just because they are noticeably different from my last update. Just a quick review of their growth: here they are planted on March 25th. By May 2nd, they've passed the 3rd ring of the cage... ...and today they've sort of completely outgrown the cage and look like someone with a very bad hair day. Except...they look like this everyday and I love it! (What can I say? I'm a delusional parent.) And do you see all those dots of orange up there? Yup! They're all ripening sungolds. The following picture is a closeup of a glorious tomato vine. When they reach a deep shade of orange and have a slight "give" when I feel it, I harvest it. The following is pretty much how many we harvest a day. Today we enjoyed them with some avocados lightly sprinkled with sea salt and ground pepper. Delicious!
