For a while now I've been thinking about the lighting situation in the guest room. Having slept there a few times myself (like when we painted our bedroom), I noticed that you can't really turn off the light while you are in bed (aka pull-out sofa).
The lamp next to the sofa is controlled by the wall plate so you basically had to get up to turn off the light, then hope that you don't bump your knee finding your way back. Not that the room is large. But it's pretty cramped with the sofa pulled out so banging a knee against something is highly probable.
So I've been thinking about a good solution where people can read comfortably in bed and then turn off the light whenever they wanted. You know, like a hotel room. :) So I did a lot of research and finally decided upon these lamps and when my sister asked me what I wanted for my birthday, well, I shamelessly told her. :)
And here they are! I really like the size of these. They're not big lamps by any means, which I think is perfect for this space. There is already so much going on those walls that I didn't want something with an overwhelming visual weight. So these are perfect. :)
